My Top 3 Oscar Red Carpet Look

The Academy Awards is one of the most prestigious awards in filmography..and also one of the highest-rated fashion red carpet. All eyes are on what the lady celebrities are wearing..and some of what the men are wearing as well. I just wanted to share my top 3 choices for the best dressed list.

JLo's dress is hands down the BEST among all. It is both sexy and effortless with sparkly details. It hugs her curves and body perfectly! Her hair and make-up completes her entire outfit and look. LOVE IT.

Jlo in Zuhair Murad
Michelle William's dress is sweet and adorable and fits her petite frame. There are plenty of details in her dress, such as the tiered peplum ruffles and more ruffles down the train. The dress took around 300 hours to make! I am not liking her hairstyle as much though.

Guilanna's dress is also a stunning one! I wonder why she was not mentioned as much. I love the lace and sparkly details. I am a sucker for lace and sparkles! But really her dress is absolutely pretty!

A big congratulations to all the winners of the 84th Academy Awards! I will try to catch the award-winning film "The Artist" in my spare time. I also want to watch the "Iron Lady" where Meryl Streep won Best Actress. She is one of the best of all times. Again, a big applaud to all.

DIY: TOTORO SHIRT

My Neighbor Totoro

Have you watched My Neighbor Totoro? Its an animated film created by Hayao Miyazaki back in 1988. I watched this movie when I was a kid and I loved it! Disney released a version so I think it's a pretty popular cartoon. Anyway, my younger brother is a huge fan and I actually got him this hat which inspired him to make a shirt.

Totoro Hat

When worn
Materials:
1. Shirt
2. White felt
3. Newspaper
4. Marker
5. Scissors
6. Needle and Thread

This is a very simple DIY. All you need is a shirt, white felt, newspapers, markers, scissors and thread. Simply make the cut out using newspaper as your guide and trace to the white felt. Cut the white felt accordingly and sew on to shirt. If you are lazy, glue is always an option! You can use sew-no-more. My brother was so happy with the outcome of his shirt. More DIY's will be coming from him :)

DIY: Diaper Cake

Belated Happy Hearts Day everyone! How did you spend Valentines days? I spent mine at home heee. I just wanted to share how I made the Hello Kitty Diaper Cake for the baby shower. Diaper cakes are also known as Nappy cakes and are popular gifts for baby showers and baptismal. You can add any kind of baby items to the cake. I watched a couple of youtube videos  and created my own version below:

You will need the following materials:
1. Diapers - I used an entire pack of 44 pcs for all 3-levels
2. 4 Assorted Ribbons in different widths
3. Rubber Bands (big and small ones)
4. Baby Soap
5. Baby Powder
6. Socks
7. Hairbands ( for boys you can add bibs)
8. Cardboard (for base)
9. Japanese Paper
10. Tulle
11. Hello Kitty Doll
12. Balloon (Optional)
Roll each diaper and secure with a rubberband. With the board ( I covered mine in pink japanese paper), form the base by placing the baby soap and powder in the center and create a circular structure around it using the diapers. Once you have formed the structure, secure the entire base with a rubberband.
I covered the entire base in a tulle just to make it more secured . Add different ribbons around the cake. Use different widths and colors to add contrast. You can also add print-outs like what I did. Just add the next 2 layers and do the same. You can decorate the base with more japanese paper.
I decorated the second level with socks, hairband and more print outs.  Get creative by decorating with other baby items such as bibs, pacifiers or bottles.
Add the doll to the top of the cake, I could not find a cute doll so I used a  pillow instead (still works!). I added a balloon to the top just to make it complete but this is optional. The doll is enough as a topper to the cake.
See how easy and simple it is? It will probably cost you P1000 to buy one but making it costs so much less! Plus its fun too :)

Hello February!

Remember I mentioned in my previous post about the baby shower I was preparing for? We threw my sister's surprise baby shower last Saturday with Hello Kitty as the theme. Here are some of the decors and details of the party.
Baby Shower Streamers
Table Setting
Hello Kitty Diaper Cake made by me (more details soon)
Hello Kitty Hairbands as souvenir and was worn during the party
Balloon Giveaways
Chocolate Coins as Prizes
Chocolate Cupcakes and Cookies

Overall, I am really happy as to how all the decors turned out! Quite stressful and tiring as my cousins and I had to set this up in a span of 4 hours. Everyone enjoyed the party and all efforts were much appreciated :) My favorite item were the Hello Kitty hairbands, it made such a special impact for the party :)

 Even Ginger agrees!
